OMGosh! I Bought Something Brand New!!!

I've been really good about buying either second hand clothes or clearance clothes for my kids. But today I bought an Easter dress for my 5 year old and paid $16.50 for it! I actually felt really bad about it. So, I guess that's a good thing. I've changed my way of thinking. Before I would just go to Walmart or Target and buy what ever I needed for them. It was just easier. I also bought my three year old a dress for Easter a few weeks ago, but it was only $7 so I really didn't feel all that guilty. But I'm keeping my receipts, just in case I find something cheaper between now and then. But I don't know. These dresses are really cute? And it's so hard to find dresses with sleeves. Even brand new. Even here in Nebraska for Christmas, my choices were limited. I was really surprised that most of the Christmas dresses were sleeveless. But I guess it doesn't really hurt to splurge here and there, right?

I saw those cute dresses at Wal-Mart. Makes me wish I had a 4 year old girl :)

Here is my way of thinking, you have to splurge every once in awhile. Luckily my mother in law always buys the kids thier Christmas clothes (dress or suit). And honestly, the thing about being frugal is if you can't afford it, you don't buy it. Now if you couldn't afford the $16 dress you wouldn't have bought it, (and just made do with another dress, or like the women in my ward not had your kid in a Christmas dress or Easter dress, because really- no one judges or cares if your kid is dressed festive) and maybe since you have done so well in buying 2nd hand or at consignment places you can afford a nice (full priced) dress for your daughter for Easter. Maybe after Easter you can buy their dresses that are discounted for next year...this is what I try to do. So it's still new, but discounted. Anyways! Don't feel guilty until you find something cheaper that is just as cute. :)
