Aiming for a Debt Free Life
I know this is very personal, but I want to show how possible it is to pay off your debt even when it seems overwhelming. I was horrified when I actually added up the numbers for the first time in March 2009. We do without a lot, but it's so worth it.

Learn to be debt free!
Why go into more debt to pay for information on how to get out of debt? Doesn't make sense. My church has a couple of pamphlets to help you financially. One For the Money and All Is Safely Gathered In. "One For the Money" is based off a talk given to members of our church in the 70's. It has an example of a Debt-Elimination Calendar and a blank one for you to use. This is what I'm using to get out of debt. I've created my own spread sheet using the same plan. They also have a blank budget sheet. "All Is Safely Gathered In" is pretty much a shorter version. Most of this information is what any financial advisor will tell you. And I've even heard Suze Orman and others say most of the same things. We may pay 10% tithing to our church, but most of the financial advisors I see on TV will tell viewers to pay 10% to charity. This information is free! So take a look at it today!
Notes
- 9/10/09-Recipes are not necessarily frugal. The savings is cooking it yourself and not eating out or buying prepackaged meals.
- 8/22/09-After about a year of on again, off again couponing I think I finally got the hang of it. I'm still learning, but I think I'm getting the hang of it! What a rush!
